I Help Software Engineers and Managers Build Successful Careers
I specialize in guiding engineers and managers in the software industry to establish and grow leadership and successful careers. Whether you're a new grad, senior engineer, or manager, I can help you achieve your career goals, such as:
- Landing your dream job
- Overcoming workplace challenges
- Earning promotions
- Elevate your mindset
- Transition from IC to management

Here’s why I am well positioned to guide and support you in achieving your goals:
- Passion for helping others grow: I feel self-fulfilled when I could help others grow, therefore I have been teaching, mentoring, and coaching throughout my career. For the same reason, I moved into engineering management career track after being a software engineer for years.
- Extensive work experience: I navigated the culture transition from China to the United States. I weathered multiple economic downturns and tough job markets, e.g., the dot-com bubble burst before my graduation. I’ve successfully transitioned between multiple roles and levels in my career, including individual contributor, tech lead, manager, and manager of managers at FAANG companies. I've been through 100+ job interviews as a candidate and 500+ job interviews an interviewer. I have reviewed 1000+ resumes and 200+ interview packets. I hired 40+ and promoted 20+ engineers and managers. I have built a team from ground up and scaled to 20 team members as well as led team size of 40+ individuals.
- Proven teaching, mentoring, and coaching skills: I recognize that excelling at something and helping others achieve it are entirely different skills. To excel at both, I’ve invested significant time and effort in honing my ability to support others, including teaching Software Product Management at the University of Washington for 5+ years and being a career mentor for graduate students at the Seattle University for 3+ years. I am also working toward becoming a certified ICF coach.
The combination of passion, experience, and a commitment to professional development equips me to help you achieve meaningful transformation in your career growth.
